MR. JOHN GEHLHAUSEN: I hope I shall possess firmness and virtue enough to maintain what I consider the most enviable of all titles: the character of an honest man. George Washington has always been one of my heroes, and that was one of the wisest things he ever said.

Another part of the philosophy that I have here that I believe in a great deal is front door, as I had the front door custom made. And I had carved into the door, where clients who come in can see it in no uncertain terms. What it says is, chance favors the prepared mind. And I believe that to the depths of my soul as well.

I have collected through the years a very extensive library on farm, lawn, construction machinery accidents. I also have a staff that has been with me, most of them, very many years, and who know these cases as well as I. Virtually every exhibit gets put into a specific category that we know is going to exist for that particular case so that I don’t have to go invent the wheel every time I hear this excuse. I already have the evidence that shows why that simply is not a valid excuse. Preparation is the key here.

CASSANDRA: Just his philosophy, really what I’ve seen, is just work hard, no matter how much time it takes, do it right, work hard, put your heart and soul into it.

LINDA: Makes me feel really good to know that something we do has a positive influence. There are so many tragedies out there, but John makes their lives a little better in the work that he does, and it does feel good to know that, in some small way, we have a part in helping with that.

DAWN: The cases that he takes, he really believes in. And it’s almost as if he’s the one that’s also getting injured and he’s the one that’s sacrificing as well. So he is so passionate and energized about his cases that it’s hard not--I think for all of us--to not get involved and see that we are making this world a better place, and he continually is trying to, which is great.
